Getting to us is part of the adventure. From Puerto Vallarta, a quick drive will bring you to Boca de Tomatlan — the last beach you can reach by car. From there it’s a 30-minute boat ride along the beautiful coast to Yelapa. Our staff will be waiting for you on the pier with mules to meet you and your luggage.* Verana, one of the coolest and smallest boutique hotels Mexico has to offer.

Facilities
You will enjoy a restaurant, full bar, swimming pool, small library, jungle spa and a cute little gift shop. WiFi is available, and cellular phone service is available but limited.
Each house features a large private patio with a magnificent view, and a full bathroom. All beds have over-sized mosquito nets. Bottled drinking water is provided in every house. And yes — we do have electricity. A maid comes every day, and linens are changed every other day unless otherwise requested. We conserve water as much as possible, as it comes from a spring three miles up in the mountains.
Reservations
Reservations are for 5 or more nights, though requests for a shorter stay of 3 nights can often be accommodated. There is a 7 night minimum from December 22nd to January 6th.
Meal Plan
Full board, includes breakfast, lunch and dinner: $95 per person per day
Terms & Cancelations
A 50% deposit payment of your reservation is required within 14 days of booking; if not provided a reminder will be sent, after which your reservation will be canceled. The remaining balance is due not later than 30 days prior to arrival time. Upon full payment you will receive a written confirmation for your stay. Force Majeure or ‘Acts of God’ events are not covered by our cancellation policy and thus not applicable for refund.
We accept credit cards or wire transfers for pre-arrival reservation payments, for check out onsite we accept credit cards or cash in USD or MN.
Full refund, less a $75.00 cancellation fee, will be granted if cancellation request is received at least 30 days prior to scheduled arrival date (60 days for holiday reservations from December 22-January 6).
Group bookings (consisting of 4 or more accommodations) or Hotel Buyouts, require 90 or more days notice of cancellation, to receive a refund less a $75 cancellation fee per accommodation.
Hotel buyouts (booking all of Verana for a private event) require a $1,000 non-refundable hold deposit at the time of reservation.
COVID-19 Cancellation Policy:
Full refund, less $75.00 cancellation fee to cover booking expense ($75 cancellation fee per accommodation for group bookings), will be granted if cancellation is due to a governmental mandated border closures restricting travel between your nation of origin and Mexico. Other COVID related reasons for a need to make a cancellation is not applicable for a refund or credit.
We strongly recommend you purchase travel insurance.

Rates for single or double occupancy in US$, per night per house and include taxes & boat transfers arriving and departing.
Extra guests incur a $70 surcharge per person per night.
For the Holiday Season (Dec22 – Jan 6) the rates are quoted based on max occupancy per house.
Full and half board meal plans available. 10% service charge is applied at check out.
During the low season (July 1 – Oct 31), we offer a slightly reduced range of services; meals are generally served in the restaurant, but if there is inclement weather we can instead provide room service. Spa and activity services are on call and based on availability.

Transport
When making airline reservations, please remember that in order to catch our last boat of the day to the hotel, your flight must arrive in Puerto Vallarta no later than 4 p.m. Departing please ensure flights leaving at 12 pm or later, preferably 3 pm or after.
We offer a convenient personal car service from the airport to our private boat, and back. A driver welcomes you at the airport or other location in the region, and drives you to the boat launch, at the small town of Boca de Tomatlan, south of Puerto Vallarta. Please inquire for car service options and prices.
Alternatively, you can take your own taxi from the airport to the boat launch. If for any reason you cannot make the last boat we will be able to pick you up at Boca de Tomatlan the next day.
Boat transfers on your arriving and departing days are included.
The trail to our property is about 10 minutes from our private pier, one should be in fairly good health for the walk up. If required, there is always our mule “Casi” as a companion if you feel tired or too lazy. Your luggage will be brought up by our staff.

Nights at Hacienda San Angel can be booked directly through Verana, for your convenience. The nightly rate is $475/normal season, $650/holiday season, taxes included.

1. How do I get from the airport to the Boca de Tomatlan boat launch?
Simply take a taxi, all are registered, the trip is about 45 minutes, and the cost is around $50 USD.

2. Can Verana pick us up at the airport?
While we do not provide a pick up service directly, we work with a private car service which can await you at the airport, or from any Puerto Vallarta location.

3. How do we know which boat is Verana’s?
Look out for the boat which says V E R A NA on the side, with an orange canvas top! Have your driver drop you as close to the pier of Boca de Tomatlan as possible, and if you are early relax at the small restaurant near the pier.

5. What about mosquitos?
While not completely absent, Verana is open during the region’s dry season, Nov-June, when insects in general and mosquitoes in particular are not bothersome at all. We still recommend bringing repellent for use during your stay.

6. Can I reserve with my credit card?
We are happy to accept for pre-arrival payments: credit card, PayPal, checks and wire transfers.

7. Can we reserve without the meal plan?
Yes, our meal plan is optional, though keep in mind that Verana is remote and the meal plan is recommended. You are welcome to take meals with us a la carte.

8. Can we take our lunch with us if we want to leave the hotel for the day?
Of course, please just give us advance notice from the evening prior or early, and we are happy to provide a to go lunch.

9. How can we pay our final bill onsite at Verana?
Your check out bill can be paid with credit card, cash in USD or pesos, or by direct PayPal payment.

10. Is it necessary to bring pesos?
Dollars are widely accepted in Puerto Vallarta and Yelapa where Verana is located, so it is not essential to bring pesos.

11. Are there are dietary options?
We are able to accommodate any dietary restriction or preference.
Once your booking is confirmed, an information link will be sent so that these details can be provided to us.

12. Is there a safe in the rooms?
The rooms do not have safes, but there is one in our office where we are able to safeguard your valuables upon request.

14. Do you accept children?
At Verana we have an age policy, of 16 years old or older. This is in part to foster an adult atmosphere, but also due to the presence of scorpions in the region. These arachnids are generally safe for adults but can cause complications for the very young.

15. Can you tell us more about the scorpions?
Scorpions are native to the region, and while their sting can be painful they are not dangerous to adults. We do a great job keeping Verana scorpion free, but the occasional one will still be found. Wearing shoes, not leaving your things laying on the ground, and being aware of your surroundings will ensure a safe stay.

16. How far away is the ocean/beach?
Our private pier, ideal for snorkeling, is just 5 minutes from Verana. The nearest beach is 10 minutes, and a larger beach with restaurant services 30 minutes.
You can also arrange with us to boat you to a number of secluded beaches.

17. Can we book activities or spa treatments prior to arrival?
Of course! Please email us at hostdesk@verana.com or reservations@verana.com.
Please note that some activities which are by boat are dependent on ocean conditions and weather, and though we do not often need to cancel an activity, we do reserve the right to do so if it is deemed too dangerous.

18. What happens if our flight is delayed?
Don’t panic, just contact us by phone or email as soon as a delay is reported, chances are you will still have no problem arriving to Verana that same day.
If your flight is extremely delayed and is too late to arrive to Verana, we are happy to arrange a boat for the next day at 1 pm; we can also try and provide a special late boat service, for an additional charge, but this is not always possible.
